…matching clothes for our shows.

Quite a busy weekend these past few days have been. Started the weekend off with a nice (difficult) run after school Friday. James informed those running that we were expected to prepare “good luck goody bags” for the girls team, who would be running at Regionals in Troy on Saturday. We managed to find a little something for them. On Saturday morning the cross country all-stars went to James’ for a run and breakfast before catching the bus to Troy. Pitz, James, and James’ mother made a more-than-respectable breakfast.

We made it up to the meet in time to see the D-1 boys race. If somebody was just standing at the finish line, they probably wouldn’t notice much out of the ordinary. Jeff See finished just ahead of Levi Fox for first, and Beavercreek’s Nik Schwiekhart was just a few places back. But suspiciously absent was Centerville… Their front runner collapsed with under a mile to go, with the next Centerville runner finding a similar end to their race. Too bad. Centerville was poised for State, but never made it out of the region.

As for the ladies, the Fairmont guys were out in force. Dylan, Alec, and Joey made a grand appearence. We made plenty of noise for the girls during the race. Unfortunately they didn’t get exceptionally close to making it to State. Vanessa, however, finished in second behind previous state qualifier, super Mason-Girl. Vanessa beat super Mason-Girl last year at State, but this year super Mason-girl won. Vanessa wasn’t far back at all, with super Mason-Girl breaking away in the last half mile. Nice race.

Saturday night found Daniel and I sitting by a fire. Saturday night also found a spider. Fitting for beggers night.

Sunday I worked. Good weekend. Busy, short, and good.
