Thailand Day 4

The marathon begins. A 4:30 start time meant we actually saw very little except the runner in front of us for about an hour and a half. When the sun finally rose it was thankfully obscured by clouds, as the heat was aleady unbearable. The giant heat tab (as the random American living in Singapore called it as he ran up behind us) finally showed itself during the last 30 minutes of the race. I don’t plan on running any more marathons in southern Asia in the middle of summer. It sure felt good to finish this one.

Oh, water buffalos roam the plains around here.
