Thailand Day 5

Today we took a boat excursion to the Phi Phi islands, about 35 miles east of Phuket. The seas were rough. Apparently it’s monsoon season, a concept entirely foreign to most of us in the USA. The photo is of the coast of Phi Phi Lee, perhaps best known from the 2000 Leo DiCaprio flick “The Beach.” Besides that, the island also boasts some pretty extreme karst topography. I’ll refer to it as superkarst.
